Condensed matter physics and statistical mechanics of complex systems: From spin glasses to Boltzmann machines

This is an advanced course on Condensed Matter Physics that will focus primarily on Magnetism and if time permits on Superconductivity.  The course will be taught in English and will blend theory with computations.  The main topics involve phase transitions, the Ising model, spin glasses, the Hopfield model, Boltzmann machines, quantum magnetism and the Heisenberg model, superconductivity.  The students are expected to write python code in order to solve  numerically problems that will be coverd in the course.   The final exam will have a theoretical and a computational part.
